Lois Jean "Jeanie" Marchand

Lois Jean "Jeanie" Marchand, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2016, at Sunset Senior Living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Jeanie was born on April 4, 1933, in Baton Rouge, the daughter of Sidney and Carolyn Beard. She graduated from Baton Rouge High School. For 65 years she was the loving wife of Wilbert Joseph Marchand. For many years she was the manager for Willie's Exterminating Company and was active in the Greater Baton Rouge Pest Control Association and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She was a member of Luke 10:27 Church where she enjoyed volunteering in the church office. Jeanie's kind heart, generous spirit and wonderful humor touched everyone she encountered. Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Polly Haynes. She is survived by her husband and four children; daughter, Judith Ball (Jerry) of Greenville, Texas; Sidney 'Man' Marchand (Christy) of Gamaliel, Arkansas; Brenda Tedder of Walker, Louisiana; and Bryan Marchand (Crystal) of Watson, Louisiana, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ronnie Beard. Pallbearers will be grandsons Adam Marchand, Bryan Marchand, Jr., Kristopher Liptak, Matthew Liptak, and nephews Lee Beard and Ronnie Beard, Jr. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon on Monday, November 7, 2016, at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with burial immediately following.
