

Louis Jean Mire, born July 16, 1920, died peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at age 90. A native of Prairieville and resident of Baton Rouge, he leaves behind his daughter, Trannie J. Madden and her husband, Mark; son, Dr. Louis E. Mire and his wife, Beth; six grandchildren, Samuel Madden and his wife, Bailey, Matthew Madden, Virginia Mire, Abby Richardson and her husband, Josh, Luke Mire, and Amanda Mire; great-granddaughter, Cecilia; numerous nieces and nephews; and devoted caregiver, Karen Calamia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn B. Mire; parents, Nestor and Juilette Braud Mire; brother, Earl; four sisters, Pearl, Lonie, Helen and Inell; and sister-in-law, Mary Helen Scudday. Louis was a veteran of World War II and served in the Eighth Air Force. The family would like to say a special thanks to his dedicated caregivers, Geraldine Spikes, Wendy and Hazel Johnson and Shirley Perry.
