

Lucielle Denham James, 97, of Baton Rouge went to be in the arms of her Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 4, 2014. Ms. James was born on March 24, 1917 in Galvez, LA She was a homemaker, and an expert seamstress She was a member of Winbourne Avenue Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she served as a devout servant that hardly missed a service. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kline E. James; infant son, Kline E. James, Jr.; and granddaughter, Denise Wasson. She is survived by her two daughters, Clinel Sissy Davis and husband Bob, of Watson, and Varel Lee Bertrand and husband Adler, of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren, Keith Taylor and wife Darlene of Canton, GA, Dane Taylor and wife Becky, of St. Francisville, LA, Danette Cargil and husband Jeff, of Walker, and Darren Wasson and wife Cyndi, of Houston, TX; five great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren. The family would like to say a special thanks to Ms. Lucille's special caregiver, Sheila. Also, a special thanks to Cardinal Hospice. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Rabenhorst East on Florida Blvd. beginning at 5:00 pm and going until 8:00 PM. Services will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Rabenhorst East with Rev. Jim Nichols officiating, with a visitation beginning at noon. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
