

Lucille Vickers Harris born Feb 25, 1927 in Vicksburg, Ms and a resident of Ollie Steele Burden Manor, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the age of 85. Mrs. Harris was a long time resident of Houma, La. where she and her husband owned two businesses, Circle K Western Wear and Jay’s Electrical Contractors. Mrs. Harris square danced, was an Eastern Star, she enjoyed growing African Violets and crocheting, and loved her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jasper Edd “Jay” “JE” Harris, one daughter Kim Katrina Harris Denicola and husband, David, six grandsons Justin W. Pauler and wife Debbie of St. Amant, Jonathan E. Pauler and wife Heather of Norfolk, Virginia, John E. Hernandez of Texas, Jay Hernandez of Texas, Nicholas D. Denicola of Baton Rouge, Matthew M. Denicola of Baton Rouge and two granddaughters Jennifer B. Hernandez of Texas and Megan M. Denicola of Baton Rouge, four great grandchildren Maeleigh Jane Pauler of St. Amant, Charlie Pauler of St. Amant, Roxanne B. Pauler of Norfolk, Virginia and Samantha Pauler of Norfolk, Virginia. One sister Mary Francis Howerton of Demopolis, Alabama, Neice Gloria Jean Taggart and husband Burt of Little Rock Arkansas, and other numeras family and friends. She is preceded in Death by her Parents John and Edna Grauer Vickers of Greenville, Ms., two sons Lynn Peter Hernandez of Vicksburg, Ms. and Johnny Lynn Hernandez of LaGrange, Tx. formally of Houma, La., three brothers Buster Vickers of Greenville, Ms., Elmer Vickers of Greenville, Ms and Emery Vickers of Tx., and two sisters Johnnie Vickers Johnson of Greenville, Ms. and Myrtle Vickers Goodin of Arlington, Texas. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Funeral Home, Thursday January 10th from 5:00PM to 8:00PM and Friday January 11th at 11:00AM and will conclude with a service at noon at Greenoaks. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. A special Thank you to all the Nursing and Care Staff at Ollie Steele Burden Manor, the Nurses and Doctors at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospice.
