

Lucy Manisco DiVincenti passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the age of 87. "Love" as she was lovingly called by "Hon", Joe DiVincenti, her husband of 61 years, who passed away in 2009; is now with him to spend their new life together. She was born October 12, 1928 and a life long resident of Baton Rouge. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her favorite pastime besides spending time with her family, was bookkeeping, dancing, sewing and saying the rosary. She was President and part owner of DiVincenti Brothers, Inc.; past Presidents of the American Legion Auxiliary, Nicholson Unit, Post #38, where she lead the Girls State Service; the UCT Auxiliary; the Greater Baton Rouge American Italian Association; and the La Progressive Men's Club Auxiliary. She was Vice President of the Merry Whirlers Club and a member of the BR Eye Bank and Cavaliers Club. She is survived by her eight children and spouses: Sammy and JoAnn DiVincenti; Joey and Cindy DiVincenti; David and Re DiVincenti; Phyllis Draughon; Dotty and BJ Smith; Ginny and Stan Skrobialowski; LuAnn and Randy Prejean; and Gerald and Mary DiVincenti. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren: Stacy DiVincenti, Angela Babin, Robert Draughon III, Sammy DiVincenti Jr., Christina O'Brien, Joseph DiVincenti III, David DiVincenti Jr., Colby Draughon, Skyler Prejean, Anna Boykin, Billy Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Victoria Smith, and Zoe Skrobialowski; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. DiVincenti, Sr., her parents, Sam and Dora Carona Manisco and her sisters, Virginia DiVincenti and Marie Cappo Guarino. Mass of Christian Burial at 1 pm, officiated by Father Miles Walsh, followed by Interment in Greenoaks Cemetery, 9595 Florida Blvd. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
