A retired Gulf States Utility sub-station foreman with 40 years of service and a resident of Greenwell Springs, he died at 3:40 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at the Louisiana War Veteran's Home, Jackson. He was 90 and a native of Baton Rouge. Mac was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific with the 370th Bomb Squadron, 307th Bombardment Group, 13th Air Force. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Wednesday, Jan. 26, from 10 am until religious service in the chapel at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Bill Brewer. Burial with military honors in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by a daughter, Kitty Morgan; son, M. C. McCormick III "Mackie" and his wife, Rebecca; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mac was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Wood McCormick; two daughters, Maureen Vernon and Patti Zumo; grandson, Shane Zumo; and brother, Thomas McCormick. He was a member of the GSU Sideliners.
