"Malachi Anthony Westmoreland ("West"), native of Baker, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the age of 65 years. After working as a heavy equipment operator through Locals 406 and 101 for over 40 years, Malachi retired in 2015. Malachi is survived by his daughters, Leslie Ann Bonner (Jerry), Angela "Nikki" Sykora (Jon) and Tammy Marie Nabors (Joseph); his brothers, Jerry and Gene Westmoreland (Shyrl and Lynn); his sister, Cheryl "Trudy" Fleming (Glynn-deceased); his 9 grandchildren, Ryleigh Carnegie, Masen, Noah and Anleigh Bonner, Weston, Jake and Cooper Sykora, Joseph Denton (Qaelsha) and Tigger Torres; and 2 great grandchildren, as well as his significant other, Linda Mae Hoffer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Geraldine Westmoreland; and his granddaughter, Erica Nicole Denton. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815 from noon to 4:00pm.
