Margit Lee

Margit Lee, 55, of Baton Rouge, LA was called home peacefully to be with the Lord on February 27, 2026.

Born in Fort Gordon, GA to a military family, Margit had a love for God and country.

She was devoted in her faith and unwavering in her support to our men and women in service.

She earned her bachelors degree in education from Louisiana State University before starting her career in elementary education. Margit was also a very proud alumna of The Golden Band From Tigerland having marched 5 seasons with the band while at LSU. Purple and Gold was in her blood. There was never a doubt that she loved purple and lived GOLD.

After college, Margit dedicated her life to 30 plus years as an elementary school educator. She was a beloved figure who will be remembered by countless students and colleagues as a caring soul and influential part of their daily lives. Her focus was the enrichment and development of the children in her classroom. She taught with compassion, encouraged her students during times of struggle, and celebrated their success big or small. Her spirit and soul will live on in the countless lives she touched in her teaching career.

Margit was preceded in death by her parents Robert E. Lee (Father) and Nola N. Lee (Mother). She is survived by, Noell A. Lee (Brother), Adele B. Lee (Sister-in-Law), and Sydney J. Lee (Niece).

A celebration of life will be held on March 28, 2026 at Comite Baptist Church (12250 Greenwell Springs Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70814). Visitation will be at 10 AM with services starting at 11AM. A social gathering will be hosted by the church after the celebration service.
