

Marilyn Clements Moorman passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at her son's home. She was born on April 14, 1940, in Vivian, Louisiana, to William “Bud” Ellis Clements and Lois Atkins Clements.
Marilyn graduated from North Caddo High School and went on to attend Louisiana State University, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. She dedicated her career to teaching and spent many years shaping young minds as a fifth-grade teacher at Sacred Heart School. After years of teaching, she also enjoyed a successful career in real estate.
Beyond her professional life, Marilyn was deeply involved in her community. She was a proud member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, the Junior League of Baton Rouge, the La Fiesta Dance Club, and First United Methodist Church. She had a special passion for gardening and was an active member of her Gardening Club, often earning recognition as 'Yard of the Month' in her neighborhood. Her love for learning, service, and fellowship was evident in all she did.
Marilyn’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, always offering warmth, wisdom, and kindness to those around her.
She is survived by her two children: A. Clay Pierce III and his wife Heather of Birmingham, Alabama, and Ellis Pierce and his wife Christi of Baton Rouge; her beloved grandchildren William, Graham, Jack, Ellie, and Charlie Pierce; and her sister, Susan Davidson, along with numerous other cherished family members. Marilyn is also survived by her two stepsons, William R. Moorman, Jr. and his wife Amie of Sudbury, Massachusetts, and John D. Moorman and his wife Kate of Danvers, Massachusetts, as well as step-grandchildren Jackson, Drew, Alexa, Jake, and Krista Moorman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother William Ellis Clements, Jr., and her husband, William Ridley “Bill” Moorman. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, A. Clay Pierce, Jr.
A visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, March 26, from 10:00 AM until the service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, 4045 North Street.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to those who cared for Marilyn in her final months, especially Lacey, Chantel, Shawna, and Dr. Mark Kantrow.

Marilyn’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
