Marjorie Batts Hughes Jordan passed away Friday, September 12, 2014, at the age of 91. She was a native of Brusly and a resident of Denham Springs. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bertrand and Goldie Batts; two loving husbands, Willie O. Hughes and Otha Jordan; and brothers, Eugene and B.L. Batts. She is survived by her son, Michael E. Hughes and wife, Marjorie of Oregon City, OR; daughter, Linda H. Whitman and husband, Herb Whitman; four grandchildren, Becky Butler, Randy Hughes, Clay Whitman, and Emily Whitman; six great grandchildren, Blake and Brad Butler, Shelby, Erynn, Cade and Colt Whitman; and one sister, Ruth Batts Shiflet. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, from 10 AM until funeral service at 12 PM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of House of Grace for their wonderful care, and the staff of New Century Hospice especially nurse, Angelle.
