Mary Ann Garner Mixon

"Mary Ann Garner Mixon, a native of Thomasville, GA and long-time resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on January 7, 2018 at age 82. Mary Ann was a kind, loving person and a wonderful wife and mother. She loved her God, her family, her friends and her church. Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold, who lovingly spoiled her and cared for her every day until her passing, and her daughter, Libby, who considers herself fortunate to have had a wise and caring mother. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Hughes of Camilla, GA; brothers John Booth (Jackie) and Jesse Booth (Nancy) of Thomasville, GA; niece, Julie Hughes (Tim) of Camilla, GA, other wonderful relatives and loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Jody. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 11, at University Baptist Church, 5775 Highland Rd., from 9 a.m.until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Manor and LifeSource Hospice for their compassionate care in her final months, and the many friends who supported us on this difficult journey. In lieu of flowers, donations to University Baptist Church in Mary Ann's memory would be welcomed.
