

Known as “Sweet Sue” with a ready smile to her family and many friends that she treasured through the years. Sue retired from the Louisiana Department of Revenue after 34 years of service. She enjoyed her retirement for many years in Florida until returning to her home and family in Baton Rouge.
She is survived by her two sons, Lewis J. Bonfanti, wife Cindy and Joseph L. Bonfanti Jr.; daughters, Cathy Kleinmann, husband Leonard Shannon and Ellen McCullough, husband Murray; grandchildren, Brian McCullough, Jodi Ruiz, husband Vinnie, Brett McCullough, Lewis Bonfanti, Matthew Kleinmann, wife Danielle and Tara Collins, husband Charles; great-grandchildren, Carter, Camden and Connley Ruiz, Breanna, Kailyn and Garrison Kleinmann, Ebin and Charlie Collins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Joseph L. Bonfanti Sr.; parents, James H. and Catherine Valeria Thornton and brothers, Jim, Glennon and Jack Thornton.
Visitation will take place at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 5:00pm-8:00pm with the Rosary to be recited at 7:15pm. Visitation will resume Wednesday, February 9 from 9:00am until funeral service time of 10:00am. Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
