It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Nell Ory Braud, 90, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 23rd, 2025. Nell was born on February 4th, 1935, in Baton Rouge to Elmer Eugene Ory and Olive Daigle Ory. She was a devoted wife to Theophile Gilbert “Joe” Braud and a loving mother to E. Clyde, Nita, Robin and Tracie. She was known for her, love of gardening, dedicated service the East Baton Rouge School system as a bus driver and was an active member at St George Catholic church.
Nell was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Theophile Gilbert Braud; brother Eugene Ory; and three sisters Erin Harrelson, Claire Faucheaux and Ivy Rose Smith.
Nell is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, E. Clyde Braud (Cindy) of Baton Rouge; three daughters and two son-in laws, Nita Deben (Jack) of Covington, Robin Johnson of Baton Rouge and Tracie Bryant (Scott) of Athens, AL; grandchildren, great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Holly Court Assisted Living and Clarity Home Health (Hospice) for their care and devotion.
A visitation will be held on Friday August 29th, 2025, at St George Catholic Church, Baton Rouge, LA. from 10:30am until Mass at 11:30am. Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clarity Home Health in her memory." She will be deeply missed by her family and friends
