A born native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jeanne was a 1972 graduate of St. Joseph's Academy in Baton Rouge. She later worked for Capitol Steel and Gulf States Utilities in Baton Rouge.
Jeanne was a dedicated wife, and very loving mother and grandmother. She had been active in Cub Scouts. She loved the outdoors, spending time at their cabin on Lake Rosemound in Louisiana. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in DeWitt. She showered her family with love through her passion and phenomenal skills for cooking. She loved bringing friends and family together with fried catfish, BBQed steaks, lasagna, and her famous sweet tea. Jeanne was blessed with ten grandchildren whom she spoiled and loved dearly. Her children and grandchildren were her whole world and she loved being with them.
She is survived by her husband of almost 44 years, David L. Galster; sons, Eric M. (Hamdiya) Galster and Kirk D. (Krystal) Galster; daughter, Jennifer G. (Bradley) Troxclair; grandchildren, Thomas, Kian, Amelia, Keziah, Kanaan, Kaia, Kaleb, James, and Maya; sisters, Nancy Velardo, and Cathy Jenkins; brothers, Gerard Beatty, Allen Beatty, and Donald Beatty.
She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Mary Agnes Beatty, sisters Donna Ann Beatty and Connie Beatty, grandchildren, Killian Galster, and Lena Galster.
Visitation will be at Schultz Funeral Home in DeWitt, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2024. A second visitation at the Rabenhorst Funeral Home East in Baton Rouge will be held Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2024, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Baton Rouge.
