Mary Yoland Moritz, 84, beloved mother and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge died peacefully in her home on Saturday, April 12, 2014. Yoland was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Clarence A. Moritz, Sr. Yoland is survived by her ten children and their spouses, Barbara Fabre and John, Vickie Mayeux and Steve, Susan Ruff and Don, Sheryl Hansen and Scott, Clarence Moritz, Jr., Kim Moritz and Sherrie, Nancy Blount and Alan, Terri Olsen and Mike, Patricia Cameron and Bob, and Deanna Moritz; 15 grandchildren, Stephanie Fabre Van Lue (Jason), Travis Fabre (Ashley), Mallory and Caleb Mayeux, Aspen Ruff, Amber and Austin Hansen, Cody and Brandon Blount, Megan and Natalie Olsen, Ryan, Katie, and Chris (Rachel) Cameron, Jackson Goolsby; 10 great grandchildren, Noah, Peyton, and Abigail Van Lue, Evangeline Fabre, Dylan Robinson, Jaykob, Destin, and Marijane Goolsby, Nicholas and Elizabeth Cameron; one sister Mazy Rodgers; Also preceded in death by son Robin Wayne Moritz, mother, Mary Estelle Bourgeois Landry Ford, father, Walter Emanuel Landry, stepfather, Huber Ford; sisters, Idola Ball, Verna Anderson, and Ethel Landry; brothers, Lloyd, Earl, Norman, Herbert, and Noland Landry, and grandchild Tennille Goolsby Lasley. Yoland loved to rock and always had to have a rocking chair available. She loved to rock her babies. Her children have happy memories of their mother sitting on the front porch rocking as they bounded off the bus after school. She also loved to work in her yard, planting flowers and picking pecans. A mother always, all her children were safe in the water as she lifeguarded over them on the many camping vacations the family took to lakes and rivers around the south. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church, 5354 Plank Rd. Baton Rouge 70805 at 1:00 pm until the Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 pm.
