""A light from our household has been dimmed, a voice we loved has been stilled, a place is vacant in our hearts that can never be filled." Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Watson Pittman went to be with the Lord on the morning of October 11, 2016, surrounded by her family. She had a peaceful passing in her home, as was her wish. Betty was 92 and a native of Washington Parish. She was blessed to be welcomed to her eternal home by her husband of 61 years, Stanley M. Pittman. There was no greater blessing to her than her family and she was a faithful follower of the Lord, attending Sherwood Forest Baptist Church for many years. Betty had a profoundly strong faith, never doubting the path that was set before her. She loved gardening and was a member of Community Garden Club of Baton Rouge. There was never a day that she didn't admire her many flowers or say a prayer of thanksgiving for the beauty of each day. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories, cherished friends, and many inspirational footprints on the hearts of anyone who knew her. Her energy, zest for life, and overwhelming sense of gratitude were undoubtedly the foundation of her long life. She will never be forgotten. She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Pittman Work and Linda Pittman Spruell, both of Baton Rouge; two granddaughters, Jennifer Spruell O'Donnell, husband Davidson O'Donnell, and Adrian Work Cusimano, husband Josh Cusimano; beloved great-grandsons, John Stanley O'Donnell and Joshua Michael Cusimano.
