Maxa Rolen Guthrie passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, at the age of 81. She was raised in Morrow, LA, and was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA. She was a member of the Port Allen Lions Club and was on the board of directors for the Louisiana Lions Crippled Children’s Camp. Maxa was also the social director for a local widow’s group. She enjoyed traveling, crafting, and spending time with her family. Maxa is survived by her son, Bill Sibley and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Billy Sibley and wife, Danielle, Jason Sibley and wife, Kristen, and Allison Fontenot and husband, Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Kamille Sibley, Madelyn and Jett Fontenot, and Ellie Sibley; brother, Pete Rolen and wife, Sue; and a host of other family members. Maxa is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Guthrie; parents, George and Vidalia Rolen; and brother, J.B. Rolen. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 12pm until the time of funeral services at 2pm. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
