A resident of Central, Mike died Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was 48. He was employed with ExxonMobil for 28 years where he was known as "Smurf." Mike graduated from Glen Oaks High School in 1979 and attended LSU. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, NASCAR and NHRA. He is survived by his wife, Rhondette Harvey McGee; parents, Ben and Pat McGee, of Collins, Miss.; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Sherry McGee, of Collins; father-in-law, Ronnie Harvey; and brothers-in-law, Dean Harvey and Whit Harvey. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Feb. 23, from 5 p.m. until the memorial service in the chapel at 7 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Jay Avants. Cremation was requested by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Ronald McDonald House.
