Henry Ward Beecher.Leaving an everlasting legacy of great faith, strength and love of family, Mildred passed away peacefully Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the age of 94 surrounded by her loving family. Mildred, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, was born December 2, 1919 in Brusly-McCall, Louisiana. She is the daughter of Adam and Philomene Dugas. A graduate of Denham Springs High School and a loyal 41-year employee of Goudchaux Department Store. Married William Carl Raiford on May 25, 1940 for 30 years and later, married Willie B. Garrison on April 30, 1976 for 24 years. She is survived her daughter Margo Raiford Murphy, step-daughters, Laurie Garrison Walker, Linda Garrison Mitchell, Sheila Garrison Alleman and step-son, David Garrison and wife Mary Margaret Garrison. Grandchildren Penny Wyble Tomb Mileski, Peggy Wyble Fabre, Charles E. Wyble, Jr., and Courtney McKay Murphy. Step-grandchildren Kelsey, Dylan and Dalton Walker, Ray Mitchell, Kevin and Kirk Babineaux, and Ryan and Michael Garrison. Great-grandchildren Lauren and John Michael Tomb, Gabrielle Mileski, Brandon, J.R., and Lacey Martin Ortiz, Charles"Trey" Wyble III, Renee Wyble, Cody Wyble and Clint Marino. Several great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also survived by her sister Aline Dugas Ellis and husband Richard Ellis and brother-in-law Dr. James Ballard Raiford. Preceded in death by her parents Adam and Philomene Dugas, husband William Carl Raiford, daughter, Sylvia Raiford Wyble, husband Willie Boyce Garrison, grandson James C. Murphy IV, sister Anne Dugas Tolusso, and brothers Melvin and Claude Dugas. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst East at 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Sunday, September 7, 2014. Visitation will resume at 9:00 am on Monday, September 8, 2014 at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church at 2121 N. Sherwood Forest Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Final Interment will follow at Green Oaks Memorial Park at 9607 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA. Pallbearers: Charles E. Wyble, Jr., Charles"Trey" Wyble III, Brandon Martin, James R. Martin, Jr., John Michael Tomb, Dylan Walker. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Guarisco, Father Jack Nutter, and the Erich Sternberg family. The family would also like to express our love and appreciation to her ever faithful caregiver Elizabeth Brown a blessing from God over the past few years. Another dear companion, her feline love Duggie was loyal to her throughout many years and was forever treasured by her. For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.
