

Nancy Olano Clarke passed away at Ollie Steele Burden Manor on April 14, 2022 at the age of 82. She was a graduate of St. Anthony’s Catholic High School. She received an Associate Degree in Business School. She had a long career in the Financial and Credit Union Industry and retired as a Manager from Exxon's Federal Credit Union. She was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She always volunteered at her grandchildren’s schools and field trips. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Some of her hobbies were playing cards and going to the casino with friends, traveling with family, shopping and watching LSU sports. She was a big Tiger Fan. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Amy Clarke Opdyke of Baton Rouge, son, Jason Clarke and wife Jeanice of Baton Rouge. Her grandchildren, Zachary and Nicole Opdyke and step grandchildren Jeantry Prather and Jaxon Moore. Her 4 siblings, Richard “Dickie” Olano and wife Darlene of Covington, Diane Fricke and husband Patrick of Metairie, Patricia “Pat” McDowell and husband Don of Baton Rouge and Dale Olano of Baton Rouge. She was preceded in death by her husband Dallas J. Clarke and her parents, Louis and Bessie Olano. Special thanks to her physicians, Dr. Horace Mitchell and Dr. Jon Olson, Neuromedical Center, Dr. Jeri Johnson, Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group, Dr. Mary Raven, Our Lady of the Lake Palliative Care and Dr. Elizabeth Curtis, Ollie Steele Burden Manor. Thank you to Sister Dulce, Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center, and Sister Helen Cahill, Franciscan Missionaries of our Lady, for daily prayers and support, the clinical team members at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, Neuromedical Rehab Hospital and Ollie Steele Burden Manor. Especially her hospice nurses, Dawn and Zhanna, and the Hospice of Notre Dame team. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11am. The visitation will be held from 10:30am-11am before the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Nancy Clarke’s name.
