
An independent insurance agent and resident of Baton Rouge, Nick died in Baton Rouge at 10:40 am on Friday, October 4, 2013. He was 74 and a native of Hammond. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 4 pm until 7 pm. Visitation resumes on Monday, Oct. 7, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge, from 10 am until Communion Services at 11 am conducted by Deacon Joseph Scimeca. Inurnment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Nick is survived by his wife, Marlene Ducote Ferrara; daughter, Katie Ferrara Pate and husband Alan-Michael; son, Patrick Joseph Ferrara and wife Kerry; sister, Margaret Ferrara Costa; and three grandchildren, Nicholas Alfred Ferrara, Samantha Elizabeth Ferrara and Andrew Joseph Ferrara. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Catherine Ferrara; sister, Leona Tantillo and husband Ciro; brother-in-law, Joseph Costa; niece, Hunter Dee Hoose; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Viola Ducote; and brothers-in-law, Nelson Ducote and Gerald Lachney. Nick was a graduate of Hammond High School and Southeastern Louisiana University.
