Norma Jean Bouy Barrow passed away peacefully at her home in Baton Rouge on May 16, 2024 at the age of 85. She was born and raised in Maringouin, LA and graduated from Livonia High. She was the kindest and most caring person, and she will be missed greatly. She is preceded in death by her husband, Everett E. Barrow, who passed away in 2018 and was the love of her life. She is also preceded in death by her parents Preston and Laura Canezaro Bouy; her brother Melvin Bouy; and her sister Barbara Angelloz. She is survived by her only child, David Rhea Barrow, who talked to his mom at least twice a day every day and always made sure to have Sunday dinner with her each week and take her shopping during the week. She is also survived by her brother Darryl Bouy of Gonzales, LA, and sister-in-law Judy Mixon of Baton Rouge, along with many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for others and always made sure everyone was well fed. She kept a clean and immaculate house and loved working in her yard which was perfectly maintained by her yardman, James Burns. She enjoyed sitting on her swing under the oak tree, visiting with her neighbors, attending and watching LSU Women’s Basketball games as well as watching LSU baseball and softball games on TV, spending time at her camp at Lake Rosemound, and going with her son to their condo in Orange Beach. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Ave in Baton Rouge from 9 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. The interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brad Bouy, Lynn Bouy, Kenny Bouy, Banyon Dupuy, Craig Mixon, and Drew Landry. A special thank you is expressed to her friends Jerry Hebert, Vicki Spurlock, and godchild Stephanie Fourrier Fontaine.
