Norman David Broome, 80, was born in Bassfield, MS on January 9,1943. He passed away on August 15, 2023. David retired from Exxon Refinery Baton Rouge after 30 years as a process supervisor. He was a long-time member of Broadmoor Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, sang in the choir, and worked with the youth program. He enjoyed coaching youth church baseball and supporting his children as they excelled in baseball and softball. David also enjoyed tennis, RV traveling, genealogy and photography. He spent many hours videoing and photographing church music programs and activities. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Rochinski Broome, son Randy Broome (Missy), Vicksburg, MS and daughter Rebecca Broome, Kaplan, LA; grandchildren, Macy Ryan, Bo and Brooks Broome, Vicksburg, and Brantley Broome, Kaplan; sister Marcelle Broome Warren, Keller, TX and brother Roger Broome (Hilda), Mobile, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Harvy M. Broome and Lucille Bennett Broome. Visitation at Broadmoor Baptist Church on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 9:30 to 11:00 am. Service to follow. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, MS at 2:30.
