On Thursday, July 7, 2022, Opal Lee Taylor Avery, 94, of Central, Louisiana, moved to her Heavenly home. Opal was a godly woman who loved the Lord Jesus with all of her heart. She set a godly example for her entire family whom she loved dearly. She was a powerful prayer warrior to all. She was a member of Greenwell Springs Baptist Church.
Opal was born in Liberty, Mississippi, May 11, 1928 to the late John and Lottie Taylor. She was a devoted wife of 58 years to her loving husband the late Lloyd Allen Avery. She is survived by her three daughters Linda Alonzo and husband Gary, Theresa Oliver and husband Tommy, and Donna Avery. She will be lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren, Gary Alonzo Jr., Shannon Forman, Tiffany Crawford, Keelie Ebert, Heather Lee, Theresa Johnson, Chasity Clements, Dustin Puryear, and Derek Puryear, her twenty seven great-grandchildren, and her sixteen great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter Shannon Oliver, and one great-great grandson Karson Crawford.
Opals memory will be honored with services being held at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Visitation will be from 9:00AM to 11:00AM with funeral service to start at 11:00AM, officiated by Bro. George Threeton and Bro. David Smith, burial to follow at the Church.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
Opal was a very creative hobby enthusiast, she enjoyed painting and was an avid antique collector. The family would like to thank all of her faithful friends for your visits and calls. We would also like to thank the staff of Harvest Manor Nursing Home, a special thank you to nurses Bonnie, Bre, and all the sweet CNA’s.
