Patricia Boyd Adams, "Patsy", died peacefully on January 15, 2016. Born on February 17, 1937, she was the only child of Bennett and Julia Boyd. She married William Lindsey Adams on December 20, 1958. A woman of incredible strength of spirit, unshakable faith in God, and amazing peace of mind, she was the heart of her family. To all whom she knew, she gave and received love. Pat graduated from Louisiana State University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. As alum, she served as Province Director of Chapters and President of the local alumnae association. In all her endeavors for her church, her many philanthropies and social organizations, Pat was a strong leader. At the First Presbyterian Church, she has been a member of the Session and involved in many activities of Presbyterian Women. She was President of Potpourri Study Club, a lifetime member of the Woman's Club, held many chairs in the Junior League of Baton Rouge, and was active in The Birthday Group to name a few. Her stationary business, "By Invitation Only", assisting her husband with his business, L.B. Adams Company, and her daughter's several businesses were also a large part of her busy life. Pat is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bill; daughter, Rebecca Lane; sister-in-law, Jerrianne Adams Hadley and husband Robert V. Hadley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Too numerous to mention are her many long-time friends who attended to her throughout her last illness. Also, a special thanks to her long-time helper, Elizabeth Coleman, for her decades of service. The family is grateful to Demetra "Dee" Glover and her children, Madison, Gabe, and Cameron Christmas, who shared a beautiful and special relationship with Pat during the last months of her life. Of immense support during her lifetime, Emmy her sidekick, and Pat's animals were like her children. The service and visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Friday, January 29, 2016. Visitation will be in the church parlor from 10 a.m. until the memorial service in the church at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Movers and Shakers Network, LLC for animal rescue, or The American Cancer Society . Rabenhorst Funeral Home Downtown, 825 Government St, is in charge of the arrangements.
