

"Patricia Brown Kauffman, 80, a native of Plaisance and resident of Port Allen, passed away on March 15, 2019. She was a beloved matriarch and well-known social butterfly who would often be found sharing her faith to strangers and family. Her favorite hobbies included sewing, crocheting, gardening and visiting Disney World. She was an avid Christian whose most important activities of the day included reading her bible and sharing the word with her children and grandchildren. During her lifetime she established P&M Flowers and Gifts in 1983. Which is still open today and currently owned by her only daughter, Mona McMurtry. Patricia loved spending her time with her husband of 17 years, Ronald Kauffman. They enjoyed shopping and eating at their favorite restaurants. Patricia's passion for staying connected with her children and grandchildren was her most significantly admired trait. Her unconditional love for her husband and children will forever live on. She is survived by: her beloved husband Ronald J. Kauffman of Port Allen LA; her children - Morgan J. Joubert and Mona J. McMurtry, both of Opelousas, and Anthony Joubert of Lafayette; her grandchildren - Krysten Joubert Hardy, Emily Joubert, Morgan Joubert II, Michael Joubert, Tyler Joubert, Aaron Joubert, Stephen Joubert, Antoine Joubert, and Bethany Joubert; her great grandchild Gabriel Richard; her step-children - Karen Harrison, Ronald Kauffman Jr., Beverly Patterson, Mark Kauffman, and Michelle Hernandez, all of Port Allen; her step-grandchildren - Tonya Harrison, Sherri Patin, Kerri Bailey, Ronald Kauffman III, Rian Kauffman, Nicholas Kauffman, Steve Patterson, Kenneth Patterson, Kyle Patterson, Marilyn Kauffman, Olivia Kauffman, Jason Trahan, Blake Trahan, Shelbi Trahan, Michael Kauffman Jr., and Brookelyn Kauffman; her step great grandchildren - John Patin III, Garrett Patin, Maranda Patin, Joshua Harrison, Allora Kauffman, Kaiden Patterson, Natalie Patterson, Lilly Patterson, Peyton Patterson, JathanTrahan, Maci Trahan, Julian Trahan, and Michael Kauffman III; and her step great great grandchild Khylie Harrison. She was preceded in death by: her father Joseph Elton Brown; her mother Marie Mercedis R. Brown; her son Joseph Burnley Jr. Joubert; and her step son Michael Kauffman. A private memorial service will be held in her memory. "There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains."
