Patricia Nohra “Patti” Reeves, born on March 31, 1953, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, entered into eternal rest on October 30, 2024. She grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she graduated from Redemptorist High School in 1971.
Patti spent most of her career in the finance industry, but in her later years, she found true joy working in childcare centers. She had a deep love for children, especially her own grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she treasured dearly. Her faith in God was the foundation of her life, guiding her through both joyful and difficult moments. Patti lived with a heart full of kindness and compassion, always trusting in God’s plan and sharing her faith with those around her.
Patti’s laughter was one of her most memorable traits—loud, genuine, and absolutely contagious. She had a special way of filling a room with joy, and her laugh brought warmth and happiness to everyone around her. One of Patti’s greatest joys was cooking for others. She often said that cooking was her love language—a way to show her love. She was always trying new recipes and loved to share.
Over the years, she cared for many pet dogs, each holding a special place in her heart. Her most recent companion, Scout, brought her so much joy and comfort, reminding everyone of her gentle, nurturing spirit.
Patti is preceded in death by her parents, George Nohra and Anna Joyce; and her sister, Rebecca Nohra Maranto. She is survived by her husband, Johnny Reeves; her children, Misty Maranto Davis and her husband Chris, Michael Maranto and his wife Casey, and Nicholas Catoir and his wife Ramsey; her nine grandchildren; and her four great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the love and joy she brought to their lives.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate medical staff at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital and Clarity Hospice, her granddaughter Victoria Steele, sister Kathi Moran, caregiver Carol Cummings, Michael Maranto II, and Father Sam Maranto for the exceptional care and kindness they provided to Patti in her final days.
The family will hold a private ceremony to honor Patti’s life, with a Celebration of Life to be announced in the near future.
