A longtime resident of Baton Rouge and a native of New Orleans, she died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at the age of 97. Graveside service will be at Roselawn Cemetery on Monday, Aug. 13, at 2:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Dick Gates of First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Beck LaBorde and husband Joseph; a son, George A. Beck, of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, David, Mark and Kirk LaBorde, Jason Beck, Stacye Thoburn and Lindsey LeBlanc; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel S. Beck; daughter, Jewel Beck LeBlanc; mother and father, George and Marie Granger; three sisters, Thelma Paxton, Esther Caudill and Helen Brumgardner; and two brothers, George Granger and Frank Granger. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years. Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., is in charge of arrangements.
