

"A loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was born on November 24, 1930 at El Dorado, AR. A longtime resident of Baton Rouge since she enrolled as a student at LSU, she died peacefully on November 7, 2016 at her home. Rachel moved to Golden Meadow, LA in 1939, where her father worked in the oil industry. While visiting her beloved sister, Pearl Anne Williams Woodward, in Baton Rouge, Rachel met the love of her life, Robert L. "Buck" Kleinpeter. They were married for almost 61 years, until his death May 18, 2013. After living in Los Angeles briefly, Buck and Rachel returned to live in Baton Rouge for the rest of their lives. Rachel was active in both her church as well as her children's schools, constantly serving as room mother from year to year, as well as President of the PTA. Rachel actively supported her husband Buck's legal career, as well as his civic, Masonic, Shrine, and other endeavors. She was also very active as a board member of the Community Concert program, and she volunteered on a weekly basis to play the piano at several nursing homes for many years. Rachel was a kind and generous person, deeply religious, patriotic, and always a lady. She is survived by two children: daughter Melanie Kleinpeter Hubbs and husband David R. Hubbs, M.D., and son R. Loren Kleinpeter and wife Ashley Ward Kleinpeter; grandchildren: Brett A. Hubbs; L. Clayton Kleinpeter Miller, M.D. and husband Danny; Alden Kleinpeter Magee and husband Will; Robert Kleinpeter "Peter" Hubbs; Regan L. Kleinpeter; Brandy Hubbs Nini and husband Steven along with five great- grandchildren, nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents James David Williams and Stella Lea Williams; her grandson Christopher Cooper Hubbs; two brothers David Morgan Williams and Milton Lea Williams, Sr.; and one sister Pearl Anne Williams Woodward; two nephews and a niece. Private graveside service will be held at Resthaven Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Chris Andrews. Pallbearers will be Brett Hubbs, Peter Hubbs, Will Magee, Danny Miller, Bob Kleinpeter, and Alan Hubbs. Family would like to thank caregivers, Joyce Carter, Reshonda Carter, Libra Wilson and Nicole Valentine and her doctor, Louis Minsky. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or a charity of your choice.
