
Ralph Mason Stone, age 89, passed away on August 25, 2014. He was a native of Clarks and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a pipefitter and welder of Local 198 and worked on many pipelines throughout the country. For 15 years he was a shop foreman at Southeast Fabricators for B&B and an inspector of Bridgeline, a subsidiary of Texaco. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country during WWII as a petty officer, 2nd class aboard the USS Gold Star. Welding anything from the break of day to a broken heart, he had a passion for hunting and fishing and never knew a stranger. He was a member of Florida Boulevard Baptist Church and Baton Rouge Masonic Lodge #452. Mr. Stone is survived by his wife of 66 years, "Jackie " Johnson Stone of Baton Rouge; two daughters of Baton Rouge, Dr. Cheryl S. Quimby and Melanie S. Blackwell, wife of Richard Blackwell; two twin granddaughters Dr. Keleigh Jaclyn Quimby of Covington and Kendahl Cerise Quimby, B.C.O. of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Tillman Stone and Kate Lee Simmons, and sister, Dorothy Stone Vowell. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. Visitation will resume on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.
