Ralph "Ace" Brewer, 88 and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away in his LSU t-shirt, running shorts and running shoes on Saturday, March 5, 2016. His passions were in this order: God, family, law, running, and LSU! He was a Navy journalist in WWII and the Korean War, trial lawyer for 55 years, a deacon and elder for the University Presbyterian Church, journalist for the Alexandria Town Talk and the Advocate, and most importantly, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Ralph enjoyed recounting his time as part of Admiral Byrd's Operation Hijump, which was an Antarctic expedition in 1946-'47. If you didn't see him jogging the streets of Baton Rouge, he could be found mentoring young, law clerks, preaching at numerous, local, Presbyterian churches, grading LSU bar exams, and/or making up nicknames for all of his kids and kids' friends. His wife, Peggy Brewer, celebrates his life along with their four sons, two daughters, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Please join Ralph's family in celebrating his spiritual, successful, happy and fulfilling life on this earth. The memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm, University Presbyterian Church, 3240 Dalrymple Drive. In lieu of flowers, please forward donations to University Presbyterian Church.
