Rebecca A. Bennett Mixon, a native of Portsmouth, Ohio and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully at home on January 9th, 2021 from complications of cancer at the age of 70. Becky fought hard for three years but in the late hours of that Saturday, tired from the fight, she peacefully let go and started her final journey. She is survived by her husband, Gill Mixon, daughter Eve Irvin and partner Matthew Powell of Inverness, CA, brothers Freddie Bennett of Columbus, OH, and Phillip Bennett and wife Amber of Columbus, OH, niece Heather Kreimer and her two sons Ethan and Liam of Columbus, OH, nephew Sam Bennett and partner Lauren of Columbus, OH, as well various aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Fred Bennett, mother Zelma Bennett, and sister Sharon Bennett. Becky loved to cook and was always ready for another road trip. We took so many wonderful vacations by car as well as numerous trips to Europe and Australia. We'll always cherish those trips and they'll be in our memories forever. Becky worked at the Exxon Mobil Research Laboratory for 35 years, beginning her career as one of the first female Pipefitters and later working her way up to Mechanical Supervisor. She enjoyed working with other people and developed friendships that lasted a lifetime. We'll always love you Becky, and know your spirit is with us and always will be. Due to Covid circumstances there will be no services at this time.
