

Rex Warren Cochran Sr. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on January 20, 2025, Rex was born April 30th,1937 in Henderson, Texas. He was one of two children (Sister- Kay Cochran Campbell) by Roy and Frances Cochran. Rex first attended Pearl River Jr. College where he played Baseball and Football while studying Chemical Engineering. He then went on to Mississippi State University where he was in the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society. He graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering and worked for Dow Chemical for over 30 years. Rex also recruited the young engineers coming out of Mississippi State University to work for Dow Chemical for many years. He enjoyed this as an additional position in his job. He and his wife Karen Cochran were supporters of the Ladies Golf Team of Mississippi State for many years. Rex enjoyed Bass fishing his whole life and shared many fishing trips with his best friend and brother-in-law Bill Shamburger. In his younger years, he enjoyed duck and dove hunting with his favorite childhood dog named “Gypsy”. He later enjoyed playing tennis and golf. On the weekends, he enjoyed relaxing at his lake house. He is survived by his children, Kellye Cochran Albritton Wright, Rex Warren Cochran Jr. and Julie Cochran Sanchez. He also has seven Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren. Visitation will take place at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA., on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 10:00 am until service time of 11:30 am. Inurnment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
