Janes, Richard W. (Dick) passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017, at home. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on October 13, 1933. He joined the Navy after high school and served on the USS Oriskany for 3 ½ years during the Korean War. After service, he attended Western Michigan University, worked for several valve companies, invested in a rubber company and eventually became a partner in M&J Valve Co. until retirement in 2008. Dick was married to Joyce for 64 years, have 3 surviving children, Jean Howard and husband, Jacob, Lois Aucoin, and Dale Janes; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, January 6, 2017, from 8:30 AM until 10 AM. Masonic rites will be at 9:30 AM and service at 10 AM. Graveside service with military honors will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
