A retired employee of the East Baton Rouge Parish school system, she passed away on Friday, April 17, 2009, early in the morning at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. She was 73, a resident of Baker and a 1954 graduate of Istrouma High School. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, April 19, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at St. Isidore Catholic Church on Monday, April 20, from 12:30 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Survived by her husband of 54 years, Adam; four children, Dennis, Mark, Starr and Troy; two daughters-in-law, Alline and Cindy; a son-in-law, Russell; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Noami Charleville and Cleo Chaney. Preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Hazel Chaney; and three brothers, Boone and Doc Chaney and Baby Chaney.
