A native and resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away on Saturday afternoon, February 6, 2021, at his home. He was 62. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, but his love was fishing. He enjoyed spending time at Grand Isle and at False River. He enjoyed cooking and smoking meats and cheeses. He was a member of the online smoking meat forum. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 37 years, Sherrie Owens Lemings; his son, Robert L. “Trey” Lemings III and girlfriend Jill Haeske; brother, Tommy Lemings and wife Rebecca; sister, Nita Day; niece, Danyelle Lemings; and nephews: Garrett Lemings, and David and Drew Day. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Lemings, Sr. and Carolyn Foster Lemings. Special thanks to the firefighters at District 6. Given the current pandemic conditions, a celebration of Bob’s life will be announced at a later date.
