

Robert W. Mancill Sr. passed away at his home in Greenwell Springs, LA on Monday, May 12, 2025 at the age of 97. He was a native of Indianola, MS and a graduate of Indianola High School (1945), the University of Tennessee School of Health Science (1955)m and graduated in X-Ray Technologies in 1957
Bob served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1947, stationed at the United States Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA.
Bob met and married Kate Terry Stapleton from Cleveland, MS in December of 1955 and they were married for 63 years. They moved to Baton Rouge in 1957 when he accepted a position as X-Ray Tech at The Baton Rouge General Hospital. In 1967 Bob was promoted to Chief of X-Ray and worked at The General for 36 1/2 years, retiring in 1994.
Bob is survived by his four children, Robert W. Mancill Jr. (Dinai), David. C.
Mancill, Kate T. Grow (David Scott), and Charlotte D. Mancill; grandson Bryan C. Mancill and granddaughter Sarah K. Anderson (Jason); five great-grandchildren, Jonah J. Morgan, Judah J. Morgan, Elysia J. Anderson, Elyanah H. Anderson, and Elnaviah M. Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Kate Mancill; his parents Dr. George
J. Mancill Sr. and Daisy W. Mancill; his brother George J, Mancill Jr. and his sister Dorothy R. Worley; and his grandson Dustin M. Mancill.
Visitation will be at Greenoaks Memorial at 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton
Rouge, LA from 12:30pm to 2:00pm with the service starting at 2:00 and graveside to follow.
Pallbearers will be Jason Anderson, Bryan Mancill, Ken Worley, Hugh Krutz, Mike Davis, Chuck Langlois, Doy Henson. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Austin, Dan Adams, Gil Worley and Jonah Morgan.
Many thanks to Donald and Rexie Artieta for including Dad in the weekly "coffee klatch" every Tuesday where he got to tell all his stories to a new audience; to Greg Austin for praying with Dad every time he saw him; to Chuck and Christy Langlois for all the chocolate chip cookies baked and delivered every holiday, and to all the family and friends who prayed for us during Dad's illness.
Lastly to the care providers from Gentiva Hospice, McKenzie, Carrie, Teen, Emily, Madison and from Home Instead, Dominique and Sheila. Thank y'all for walking with us through Dad's last days.
