A native ofEmerson, N.J., he died at his home in Baton Rougeon Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006. He was 58. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. until noon, immediately followed by graveside service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Bob is survived by his brother, Dennis A. Pennington and his family, Kelli and Abigail; a nephew, Dennis A. Pennington Jr. and wife Gina; former sister-in-law, Carol Pennington Fisher and husband John; and best friend and companion, Sharon Grimes. He was preceded in death by his mother, Julinel Jordan Porterie; father, Paul E. Pennington; and a son, Craig R. Pennington. Bob began his military career in the U.S. Navy in 1969 and later transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard, serving his country until his retirement as a chief petty officer. Bob was an expert pistol- and rifleman and was awarded multiple commendations during his military service. Bob loved people, especially his friends at Hollingsworth, and never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew him.
