Roederick C. White, Sr., husband, father, brother and uncle went home to meet the Lord on July 2, 2024. He was born on August 13, 1961, in Baton Rouge. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, pastor, mentor, professor and friend.
He is an alumnus of the Southern University Laboratory School and the Southern University A&M College. He obtained his Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University. While receiving his Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University Law Center he was employed as a Corporate Staff & Labor Negotiator for General Motors Corporation. He continued his professional career as an Associate Attorney with Dykema Gossett of Detroit, Michigan.
He is especially known for his time spent as adjunct Professor, Professor of Law, Associate Professor of Law and Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Academic Affairs at the Southern University Law Center. He had a tremendous impact on his students both as a legal scholar and a mentor. His mentoring and unique teaching skills and style have impacted the legal community. While at the Law Center he was published and served on several committees.
He was Pastor of Jesus Christ Is Lord Ministries. The teaching and the anointing that God had on his life had an amazing impact on the members of his congregation and countless others. Many have experienced the life changing power of the Word of God through his ministry. He has led countless people to confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Roederick is survived by his wife Lori; his sons, Joseph White of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Roederick White, Jr. and daughter-in-law Tiffany White of St. Louis, Missouri; his brother, Tolor White, Jr. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; his sister, Sandra Goins and brother-in-law, Damon Goins; nephews and nieces, Howard, Justin, Taylor, Damon, Jr., Destinee, and Christopher; his Jesus Christ is Lord Ministries Congregation; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tolor, Sr. & Oranell White, and his sister, Desiree Smith.
A visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 8 am until time of funeral service at 10 am. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Please visit www.greenoaksfunerals.com to leave condolences to the family.
