

Ronald "Ron" John Kauffman, Sr. was welcomed home by our Lord on February 20, 2025. He passed away peacefully at his residence at the age of 86. He was born on October 5, 1938, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was a native of Pennsylvania and a resident of Port Allen, LA. He served our country for 3 years in the United States Air Force. In 1967, Ron moved from New Jersey to Louisiana with his family, where he worked different jobs and then settled into a career at Georgia-Pacific Papermill. While there, he made many great lifelong friends, who gave him the nickname “Bruh.” He retired from the papermill with 30 years of service.
For several years, he enjoyed running his firework business on Hwy. 190 in Port Allen. In his younger days, he loved to play the game of darts and became an exceptionally well-known dart thrower winning many championships. He found great joy in and will be remembered for his love of family and country, playing darts, having cars (and keeping them meticulously clean) and buying shirts.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Sara Kauffman, siblings Cheryl Dellapietro and Kenneth Kauffman; his wives Patricia Burke Kauffman and Patricia Brown Kauffman; and his youngest son, Michael W. Kauffman.
Ron is survived by his brother, Larry Kauffman(New Jersey); children: Karen Sue Harrison and husband Leonard; Ron Kauffman, Jr. and wife Michelle; Beverly Patterson and husband Mitch; Michele Hernandez; Mark Kauffman and wife Becky. He had 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his special friend, Ms. Maria Zeledon, who has been a part of his life for the past 5 years.
In addition, he is survived by his bonus family, who included children: Mona McMurtry, Morgan Joubert and wife Lisa; Anthony Joubert and wife Josephine; along with 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., 70815 on March 5th, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Greenoaks memorial Park.
