Ronald Eugene Rawls

Ronald Eugene Rawls, devoted husband, father and grandfather went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. He passed away in Zachary surrounded by his family. Ronald was born on July 14, 1936 in New Orleans, La. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Jane Dora Rawls. Ronald was a Senior Master Sargent in the U.S. Air Force of 38 years. He was a lifelong member of VFW Post 5174 and American Legion Post 394, a member of First United Methodist Church. He loved LSU baseball and spending time with his Family and Friends. He left behind a legacy of love, devotion and Faith that will sustain his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 57 years, Neily Ann Rawls. He is also survived by his three children, Brenda Rawls Pecquet and husband Eddie of Kenner, Ronald Wesley Rawls and wife Beth of Slidell and Karen Rawls Rhodes and husband Kent of Central, his nine grandchildren, Justin Pecquet and wife Katie, Lauren Rawls Thompson and husband Mark, Timothy Rawls, Leighann Rawls, Gracie Rawls, Ryan Rhodes and wife Megan, Joshua Rhodes and wife Lynley, Rachel Rhodes and Jacob Rhodes. Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church, 930 North Blvd., Baton Rouge on Saturday May 31, 2014 from 11:00 AM until 12:00. A Memorial Service will be held following the visitation at 12:00 Noon Rev. Brad Franklin will officiate. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home.
