Ruth Swayne Johnston

Ruth Swayne Johnston, a long time resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012, at the age of 92. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother who will be missed dearly by all that knew her. Ruth was a retired bookkeeper with Commercial Property Development where she worked for many years, and she was also a member of First Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Janet S. Johnston of Dallas, TX and Dodie J. Denham and husband Duane of Baton Rouge, LA; one son, Thomas W. Johnston and wife Joan of Slidell, LA; 8 grandchildren, Kristen Johnston- Saretto and husband Silvano, Thomas Johnston III and wife Sarah, Callie D. Tranchina and husband Brett, Sarah D. Rogillio and husband Cody, Brad L. Denham, Todd D. Denham and wife April, Terry D. Little and husband John, and Tara D. Shaffer and husband Darryl; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband George W. Johnston. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday March 24, 2012 from 12pm until service at 2pm. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of memory.
