Sandra Elaine Sibley Dupuy ("Tootie" and Aunt S.E." to family and "Essie" to friends), passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020. Her nieces, Susie Blanchard Richard and Marcia Richard Wollfarth, were by her side. Sandra was the youngest of ten children born to Steven C. Sibley and Cora Duffy Sibley on July 5, 1922. As she told us, she was the baby and very well let her sisters and brothers know she was special. She grew up in Denham Springs and Sherburne, Louisiana and graduated from Livonia High School, where she excelled in the classroom and on the basketball team. She received a scholarship to Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Sandra was married to Herman Dupuy for 65 years until his death in 2006. They had a wonderful marriage and were very devoted to each other, He was the love of her life. She loved her church, the Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Jones Creek Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the congregation in turn loved her as well. She was devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and spent many hours each day praying for family and friends. She couldn't rest until she knew where they all were and how they were doing. Sandra is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, on both Herman's and her side of the family. She was very close to her niece, Susie Richard (Allen) and their family: their daughter, Marcia Wollfarth (Buddy) and their children, Megan Wollfarth and Logan Wollfarth. Also their son Jeff Richard (Vonnie) and their children, Joey Richard, Matthew Richard, Ally Richard, Andrew Richard, Ben Kirby, and Caitlyn Kirby. Sandra called Susie and Allen's children her grandchildren and their grandchildren her great grandchildren. These children were her life and she adored them and in return they felt the same. They absolutely adored their "Tootie". Holidays were always a special time when she got to see and hug her babies. On those days the world was all good and she was at peace. She was also very close to her nephew, Wayne Blanchard (Carol) and their children, DeAnna Campbell (Nick), Michael Bizette, and Blaine Blanchard, and their grandchild, Ellie Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Dupuy, her parents, Steven and Cora Sibley, and siblings, Noah Sibley, Ferda Sibley, Kernie Sibley, Elinor Sibley, Lida Sibley, Bida West, Elma Slocum, Celeste Fairchild, and Louise Blanchard. The family would like to thank her Godchild, Marcia Wollfarth, and Wanda Bailey, Maudell Hill, and Mary Irma LeRay for their support, assistance, and kindnesses. Also many thanks go to the medical teams of Ochsner Medical Center and the Carpenter House for their care. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East 11000 Florida Blvd. Tuesday December 29, 2020 from 11 am until Funeral Service at 1 pm in Rabenhorst Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.
