

Born on December 31, 1952, she passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012 at the age of 59. She was a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Prairieville, La. She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Floyd A DeMars, Jr. and wife Sandra; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy “Dottie” DeMars Walsh and husband Thomas “Tommy”; one niece, Jennifer Lynn Walsh; four nephews, Gerald Scott DeMars, Anthony DeMars, Milton DeMars and Keith DeMars; three great nieces, Addisyn, Jilliyn and Alaina DeMars; two great nephews, Nicholas and Zachary Moreau; four aunts, Betty Haley, Dot Ayme, Maryann Schexnayder and Ida Schexnayder; one uncle, Clyde Schexnayder; and a host of special cousins and wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd A and Ethel Schexnayder DeMars; grandparents, Albert J and Inez Madere Schexnayder and McKinley Calvin DeMars and Luda Francis Hill; two aunts, Brenda Marie Schexnayder and Geraldine DeMars; four uncles, J A Schexnayder, Neal J Ayme, Sr, Robert “Bobby” DeMars, Sr and Douglas Haley. Pallbearers will be Gerald Scott DeMars, Anthony DeMars, Milton DeMars, Keith DeMars, Rob Arseneault and Kenny Whittington. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Branch, Barney Deville and David Weimer. She loved to crochet and to go dancing. She was a wonderful, loving, gentle and caring person with a heart of gold. She was a very friendly outgoing person. She was an 1860 Civil War re enactor and was an extra in the movie “North and South”, and was a former Avon representative. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 5pm to 9pm, and on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 8am till service time at 10am.
