Steve M. Fitch

Born in Jeanerette, LA, and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Steve M. Fitch, age 77, died after a year-long battle with cancer on Monday, June 10, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Carpenter’s house.

Steve was a die-hard LSU Tiger fan and his swimming pool was his pride and joy. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. He had retired after decades in the automotive industry.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Mae Fitch; a brother, Ray Fitch; and a daughter, Melanie Fitch. He is survived in death by his wife of 54 years, Debbie Fitch; a brother, Bill Fitch; two sons: Rene’ Fitch and Donovan Fitch; a daughter, Laney Fitch; three granddaughters: M’Lynn, Taelor, and Paetyn; two grandsons: Trey and Luke; and a great-grandson, Preston.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, with visitation from 2:00pm until memorial service at 4:00pm.
