
A construction manager and paint contractor, he died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. He was 50 and a resident of St. Francisville. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Tuesday, Nov. 18, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Edward Jenkins, grandfather of Joshua and Stephanie Jenkins. Interment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 31 years, Terri Parnell; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Joshua Jenkins; granddaughter, Myra Alexis Jenkins; brothers, Craig Parnell and his wife, Bonnie, Collierville, Tenn., and Brad Parnell and his wife, Debbie, Baker; mothers-in-law and fathers-in-law, Von and Garland Webb, Baton Rouge, and Bobby and Brenda McGarrh Meador, Vicksburg, Miss.; brother-in-law, Randy Meador and wife Eleanor, Baton Rouge; sisters-in-law, Tammy Meador and partner Pam Seghers, Houston, and Susan Duke and her husband, Rocky, Florence, Miss.; nieces and nephews, Willie, Mandy, Zachary, Avery, Zoe and Landon Parnell; Dustin, Micki, Slay, Joslyn, Drew Parnell; Jade Parnell Liuzza and Sarah Parnell, Lee, Robbie, Aubrey and Alex Landry, Maggie and Allison Meador and Chase Mistretta; three special children and their spouses whom he loved with all his heart all their lives, Brandon and Ronyell Dodson, Christy and Matt Riley and Ambera Dodson. Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Hunt, Ronald Amedee, Ronnie Guillaume, Chase Mistretta, David Mercier, Donnie Schang, and Johnny Lovier. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Deborah Abernathy, Mickey and Staff of Hematology Oncology Clinic, oncology nurses at Baton Rouge General Medical Center, Dr. Wesley Desselle, Dr. Andrew Guidroz, and Andrea of the Baton Rouge Clinic, and the M.D. Anderson staff on the P12 unit for all the love and care they provided during Steve's courageous battle with cancer. Steve's presence on Earth has touched the lives of many people. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
