She graduated from Neville High School in Monroe in 1969 and later earned a B.A. in English from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Throughout her professional life, she was a natural self-starter, gifted at turning ideas into meaningful work done with grace and determination.
In her personal life, Suzanne built her path through her own initiative — always capable, always steady, and always guided by heart. With her husband, her move to Montana was one of her greatest expressions of that spirit: a chapter where she pursued her dreams with courage, independence, and a deep love for the beauty around her.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Marian Pommier Wempe; her father, Albert Louis Wempe; and her brother, David Wempe. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
Suzanne is survived by her devoted husband, Ray Thomas Williams; her daughter, Julie Poché, and son-in-law, Scott Poché; and her beloved grandchildren, Charlie Bondy, Liam Bondy, Blair Bondy, Clare Poché, and Emily Poché, who brought her immeasurable joy.
She is also survived by her brother, James Wempe, and his wife, Lydia; and her sister, Martha Canizaro, and her husband, James.
Her family would like to thank Home Instead, especially her companion Mrs. Bonier, and Hospice of Baton Rouge for the exceptional care and dignity they showed Suzanne in her final days.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
