I will never forget the caring person she was as she housed 10 people in her home who were fleeing from hurricane Katrina. She opened her doors to us and we will forever will be grateful for her immense kindness.

I’ve known and loved Sylvie, as I called her, since we worked together, along with Joyce Gordon, in the mid 70s at the Insurance Commissioner’s office. We became friends right from the start and I’ve stayed in touch with her throughout our decades of friendship. Her radiant smile and twinkling eyes are imprinted on my heart and mind. Her Mother was just as sweet as she was and could make the most delicious chicken and dumplings! I came to know and love her family as well. My heartfelt sympathy and love goes out to them all. Rest in paradise my sweet friend💔. Love you forever❤️

To know Sylvie, as I call her, is to love and adore her! I’ve remained friends with Sylvie since I worked with her and Joyce Gordon in the mid 70s at the Insurance Commissioner’s office. So many wonderful and funny memories of times working together as well as becoming so close with her family. Her Mother was just as sweet as Sylvie and she made the best chicken and dumplings I’ve ever had! I’ve stayed in touch with Sylvie throughout these many decades and I will miss her so very much. I’ve attached a photo of her and Joyce from my last visit back home. My deepest sympathy and love goes out to her family . Rest in paradise my sweet friend💔. You’re forever in my heart❤️

I met Sylvia at Grace Baptist Church so many years ago. I remember the good times we had when Mr. Holloway took four of us ladies to dinner often. I will miss you.

I loved it when Sylvia lived next door. Sometimes when I’d go visit , she would say “go home “. It was time for her nap. One time I was mowing her grass. She came out and followed me with her flashlight. Insisting it was too dark to mow. I’m going to miss her a lot. My condolences to her daughters, grandkids , and her brother and sister-in-law. Sylvia - save us a seat.
