
Tamara McConnell died on March 19, 2015 at Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. She was born August 30, 1945. Tam was a retired librarian with thirty years of service with the East Baton Rouge Parish Library System. She was a graduate of LSU and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She was survived by two brothers, Stokes McConnell and wife Noy of Baton Rouge and Eric McConnell and wife, Jeanie of Sumpter, SC. She was also survived by a niece, Jill McConnell White and husband Thomas of Greensboro, NC; nephews, Neal McConnell and wife Mandy of Kentfield, CA and Patrick McConnell of Santa Monica, CA; and three great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Claude Stokes McConnell and Tena McCoy McConnell. Tam enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening and tending to Raspy, her beloved cat. Tam's family thanks her caregivers, the staffs at Baton Rouge General Medical Center and The Carpenter House for their care and support and a special thanks to her dear friend Jeanell Strickland, for her tireless devotion to Tam during her illness.
