

Teryl was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence L. “Lindy” Chambers. She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Joyce Piper; son, Todd Piper Vincent; grandson, Chandler Curtis Vincent; sister, Joy L. Chambers; and nephew, Hays Alder Robicheaux.
Teryl’s maternal grandparents were M. Alder Piper and Dorothy McNeil Piper; her paternal grandmother was Eula Mae Henderson Chambers Tierce. Her great grandparents were Harry Hutches Piper and Eliza Elvee Bozeman Piper. Her maternal family has lived in Baton Rouge for over six generations.
Teryl graduated from Tara High School where she was the editor of the school yearbook. She received an education degree from Southeastern Louisiana University where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. She earned a Masters of Social Work at LSU and worked as a clinical social worker for 30 years. She received recognition as an outstanding clinician.
When Teryl took an interest in a topic or hobby, she completely immersed herself and became an expert. Teryl achieved many accolades in gymnastics as an adolescent.
Teryl loved to travel. Her favorite vacation was her annual trip to Florida with her family. She attended two world fairs. She visited Europe and the Caribbean and much of the USA. She enjoyed watching television with her Pomeranians and was a night owl.
Affectionately known as “T”, Teryl will be remembered as a kind and loving person who was very loyal to family and friends. Her sharp wit, keen sense of humor, and caring heart will be dearly missed.
Teryl was loved! We find solace knowing she is in God's glory!
